Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T90 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization Review
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC T90 is the latest in a long line of a proven series of supercilious digital cameras from Sony. The super steady shot image stabilization feature, on this new offering from Sony, ensures you get perfect captures in the most unsteady of settings.

That is a real asset when you are trying to work with your kids and they are more interested in running around. The camera supports Memory Stick Pro Duo so a theoretical limit of taking 32Gb worth of images, at 12.1MP that would roughly mean around 8000 images!
The DSC-T90 has a 3inch touch screen display on the back for the purpose of setting up and managing your shots, this is a great feature when trying to zoom into a particular object amongst many. Instead of a generic pan in it means that the focus stays on what you were trying to capture, to begin with, rather than you having to hunt for the object after zooming in into your field.
Another very helpful feature is the amazing image stabilization algorithm built into the camera. Taking pictures of kids, pets and pets of kids becomes a fun activity rather than an exercise in blackmail. No more “sit still for a second while I take a picture then I’ll give both of you a treat”!! Kids can continue running around and you get to capture so much more realistic, natural moments rather than artificial posed ones.
The smile shutter feature is a further boon for nuclear families. Imagine you being out in the park with just you and the kids and no one to take pictures. Well just put the camera in smile shutter mode, focus on the field you want captured, hit the button, go join the group and then say cheese . No need to set a timer and run from behind the camera into the frame risking destroying a perfect frame with a largish rear end on one side.
The DSC-T90 has a 12.1MP Super HAD CCD image sensor and a 4X optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. The Super HAD CCD itself puts it at an advantage as it means that this proprietary system gives the DSC-T90 two times the light sensitivity of other image sensors in the market.
Thus night mode and low light pictures come out crisp even without flash being used thus helping you preserve the natural environment of a picture. Other features you’ll simply love on this camera are the blur reduction/image stabilization, 4X Optical zoom, smile detection, face detection, anti blink mechanism, HD movie recording, HDMI output, wide angle mode, 3″ LCD touch screen review panel besides others. It’s a compact, powerful camera you would love to have within your reach at all times.

Customer Reviews and scores
The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T90 retails for about $370 on most online stores. At amazon.com it has been rated 4 stars or above by 78% of the buyers. For the price it is a very good camera especially when you consider the proprietary Sony Super HAD CCD image sensor that improves light sensitivity on this camera to double of what you would get in any other manufacturers cameras. It has a host of features that are either not available in any other camera out there or are not as responsive/accurate, smile shutter and touch screen zoom in for instance. Seriously value for money and then some, what’s not to like?!
